Great things happen in the Nelson-Williams Fine Arts Building at Parrott Academy!
- Visual Art is flourishing, with marked enrollment growth in both Middle and Upper School programs. The Upper School Art Team was named State Runner-Up at the NCASA 2018 Art Showcase. Middle School art students were awarded 6 Gold and 5 Silver Art Keys. Upper School students were awarded 6 Gold and 4 Silver Keys. Upper School students also collected the Wilson Times Award and a National Scholastic Gold Key.
- Our choral program achieved a Superior Rating in 2018 for Vocal Solo and Ensemble Music Performance Adjudication. One student was selected to the University of Mount Olive All Star Choir.
- The dance ensembles have experienced ongoing success, with the Middle School Dance Ensemble winning the NC Scholastic Dance Festival overall state championship and in Jazz/Hip Hop, and Contemporary/Lyrical dance. The Upper School Dance Ensemble brought home a third place finish in the state competition.
- The guitar program continues to grow and has focused on community service. Our students work with the Lenoir County Boys & Girls Club and other organizations, both performing and teaching.
- Our orchestra performs during our musical performances in February and one orchestra participant was selected for the East Carolina's Next Generation Chamber Orchestra.
- The theatre program is thriving. The Patriot Players participate in NCTC and have advanced to the state level numerous times. Ticket sales topped 600 for the annual musical.
- Three students were selected for Governor's School in 2018 representing theatre, dance, and visual art.
