Originally from Warrenton, Virgina, I have been an APA faculty member for over a decade. I began my teaching career in Pitt County Public Schools. I taught middle school at the academy under Dr. Southerland in my early years, took a break to write a few books and was owner of St. Mary’s Nursery School during that stint, and returned to APA seven years ago to teach Latin. This is my third year as the head of middle school. In my time at the academy, I have worked with the Spectrum, the Student Council, The National Junior Honor Society, and the soccer and lacrosse teams. I live with my family in Kinston and am proud parent to two APA lifelong students –Go Patriots!
